This therapeutic coach had, prior to the pandemic, been running her business largely in person in the UK. For over two decades, she had been delivering hypnotherapy, shadow work, and more on an hourly rate. When the pandemic hit, she brought her business online, and joined EXPAND a few years later in 2023.

After working with “quite strict and stressful” 1:1 coaches where she was basically told “This is how you do it, change that wording, do that” without her inner wisdom, goals, or priorities being asked about, as well as being in two different memberships with competing approaches (one said to go all in on social media, while the other said social media was a poor use of her time and to go all in on blogging, SEO, and Pinterest), she decided: “I’m not going to defer to other people anymore. I cannot keep going down this path of not listening to myself.” Which is great, but left her with another realization: “I’m not really sure what I need to be doing (and so I’m not using my time well).”

She joined EXPAND because she knew she needed something “thorough” and the foundations-focused (vs. strategy-focused) approach we teach “filled [her] with confidence.” Throughout her time in EXPAND, we built each of the six elements of her Sustainable Success System, with a particular focus on Right Fit audience identification, Messaging, and Marketing.

Specifically, with the help of Carly, Team WholeCo, and the entire EXPAND program, this Coach:

  • Discovered the difference between a “looking for a savior” client and a true Right Fit client, which makes client work even more energy-giving (rather than energy-draining) for her.
  • Refined her signature offer and raised its price, so that not only is it more sustainable and enjoyable for her to deliver, but she’s even more confident in marketing and selling it because of how reliably it facilitates the intended results.
  • Crafted core messaging that speaks directly to true Right Fit prospects (& that make talking about her work in any context so much simpler, because she knows exactly what she needs to say and what points she wants to cover)
  • Learned how to show up more authoritatively in her marketing whilst retaining her authenticity, depth, and value of personal connection. (All of which makes her feel confident that every time she sits down to create, it’s purposeful and actually contributing to the results she desires!)
  • Created a personalized system that makes her marketing even more sustainable, in which she can capture and outline ideas when the inspiration strikes and return to them when she’s actually ready to create them (and still be excited to do so).
  • Designed her sales process to now even more effectively bring Right Fit prospects into right-for-them work, such as by structuring her questions to help prospects pre-qualify themselves for the offer as well as creating a pre-call questionnaire that helps her plan for the call.
  • Got more organized and built more boundaries with herself and her business, which has reduced her perfectionism, comparisonitis, and attraction to shiny objects and allowed her to hear her own voice again.

She “loved the intimacy of [EXPAND],” saying, Even though I had these 1:1 coaches before, they were the opposite. [EXPAND] was warm and welcoming, I felt like I could share anything, be myself. She particularly liked the hybrid nature of the modules (being self-paced but including individualized coach-sulting videos based on her progress), group sessions and feedback from Carly, plus the accountability (optional, with a member of Team WholeCo).

Here’s a deeper look at what this Therapeutic Coach has to say about EXPAND:

I was always building on shaky ground before, and now I have a greater feeling of stability and faith in what lies ahead for my business. I have such a deep and long-lasting relationship with my business (over 20 years on and off), and now more than ever, it needs to serve and support me. I love what I learned, and how I can use it for new offers and tactics again and again.

There is so much in EXPAND and I will return again and again to benefit from the many layers and nuances it offers. The way it takes you on a path where you just need to trust the process and take a step at a time was so helpful in keeping overwhelm at bay. It makes so much sense that you can’t do your offers until you do audience, marketing until you do messaging. It felt like you were offering a path in a maze; you’ve taken a pen and drawn the path saying, ‘This is how you go through this.’

The monthly support and video feedback were probably what kept me going, as it reinforced everything, was motivating, clarifying and rewarding. I also loved having the trainings and workbook to guide me, and the Facebook group felt so nurturing. Seeing everything come together in the Graduation module and workbook gave me a sense of pride at what I’d accomplished and gave me a sense of ‘I’ve got this.’ I’m both a therapist/coach and leader of myself and others, and I am no longer prepared to hide away and let people find me. I can now see how my business can become a well-oiled machine with a huge beating heart, and I’m grateful I took the opportunity [to join EXPAND].
